Question: |
"Do We Turn To Dust When We Die Or Are We Reincarnated?" I recently lost my dad a few weeks ago and I miss him very much. I've been thinking about death and I am afraid that Dead is Dead. I ask myself questions like; Do we lose consciousness forever or are we reincarnated? Do we lose our sense of existence after we are dead? Anyway the big question is this ". When we become brain dead and our bodies are cooling off in the morgue, does our soul and sense of existence and awareness go on or is that just the end? |

Thank you for writing me and I am glad that I can give you God's answers to your questions that we all have to face. Our bodies were created by God out of dust and dirt and return to the same. All Christians are then with the Lord and their flesh life is over. Those who have never accepted what Jesus did for them will spend an eternity with Satan and his angels. Most people know the phrase, "Body, Soul and Spirit" it is better understood in reverse. It really should be: "Spirit, Soul and Body" Why you ask? We ARE a Spirit, we HAVE a Soul and we LIVE in a Body. The Spirit is eternal, not the soul or the body. Follow my logic. Look at Romans 12:1 & 2 " I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your body...." Lets stop her a minute. Take a pen or pencil and put it in your hand. QUESTION! are you and the pencil the same? NO! Let me requote. " I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your Pencil...."You and the pencil are not the same and you and your body are not the same. Lets move on. Look now at verse 2 " And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of YOUR MIND..." Your mind meaning: understanding, thought, feeling, seat of emotion, intelligence. Notice that again it says.. '..YOUR MIND.' You and your mind are not the same. When a person is born again, their body is not born again. If I were fat or thin, tall or short before I accepted what Jesus did for me, I would still be fat or thin, tall or short after I accepted the payment He made for me. My body was not born again. But, the body is not me. It is where I preside. Also, if I were smart or dumb, before I accepted Christ, I would still be that way after. My mind or Soul was not born again. The real me, the Spirit me is what is reborn. This verse is clear that after I accept what Christ has done for me I am to renew my mind, I am to start putting good things into my mind instead of the same old junk. When we die, we go immediately to be with the Lord. We will get our new body, when we are with Him, a glorified body like his. 1 Corinthians 13:12 " For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
